I have replaced both the battery and the alternater within the week. However my car is still unable to hold a charge. What am I missing?

Check for a short circuit somewhere. There could be a light on somewhere also. To start tracking down a short, you'll need a volt-ohmmeter with a current function. Normal drain on the battery with the car shut down is about 50 milliamps (0.050 amps) or less. That represents the current drawn by the clock and the remote unlocking receiver. If it's more than that, pull fuses one at a time to isolate the circuit with the short. Then you'll have to figure out what's on that circuit and try to then figure out what's causing the short. Patience, persistence and a logical approach will be necessary.
Keep track of what you have traced down so that if you wind up having a pro look at it, he won't have to repeat all the things you have looked at.
