PT Cruiser Stalling at Stops 2003 Turbo Automatic
 

Man, my PT Cruiser is really acting strange.

I've done some digging on this topic, so it seems I'm not alone:

Anyways, the 2003 PT Cruiser was stalling after running for at least 10 minutes. Any time I came to a stop, and the revs dipped below 1000, the car would just shut off. There was no hic-up, no choking, just a clean stop, as though it was totally intentioned - like someone very decidedly shut the car down.

I could even reproduce the problem at will. If I was in a parking lot, let it rev really slow, and make a slow turn to the left, like I was parking, she'd stall for sure. Very strange. Once she stalled when I was turning left at an intersection - could have been dangerous, but I was ok.

So, this was really bad in March. However, I started driving my BMW, and left the car for about a month. Of course,the battery died, and I replaced it. Funny thing, the problem was gone when I started the car back up!

Anyways, the problem came back with a vengeance. It was stalling ALL the time. It was just nuts and made the car undrivable. Having the big brain that I do, I decided to disconnect the battery for a week. Sure enough, that seemed to have fixed the problem!

So, I'm wondering if the computer is 'learning' something? Does disconnecting the battery for a few days reset the onboard computer for some reason? It just seems like a really strange way to solve the problem of a stalling PT Cruiser?
