I just bought a purple 2001 PT Cruiser and wanted to replaced the severely cracked/rotten dashboard (top piece.) I have found several of them used for $50-$80 but can't figure out the color name. I've seen what appears to be the color I desire, however, some refer to it as slate gray and others refer to the color as taupe.

Of course, while I figure this out.....I'll be completing the timing belt, water pump replacement project (once I determine the best kit for the job.)

Anyway, if anyone can assist me with determining the proper color/name, I would be thrilled!!!

I guess I never even thought about looking at a door placard for this information. Thank you!!!

 

Okay, so I went out and checked the door placard. There's information about tires, vehicle weight/load specs, VIN, etc. I don't see anything glaring that jumps out at me that would identify the interior trim color scheme or names.

Am I missing something?

Now.....if I could only find the color of the TOP DASH BOARD piece.......I am in business.
