06 touring cd player question
 

I have a new 06 Touring and didn't realize that the CD/Cass/radio that came with it didn't support MP3 format CDs.

Are there other "factory" models that I could purchase (possibly on ebay) that would be a simple plug and play with the existing harness and supports? and could it also take advantage of the remote controls on the steering wheel?

Is the RAH a model that would work and if I find an RAH are they all the same or are there different models of the RAH for different years or other cars or would they all be the same?

I read about one unit for sale and it said that it was "unlocked" is this an issue if I purchase a radio that has been pulled from a different car?

I don't know for sure because I'm not "into" all the terminology around head units and the like BUT, I THINK that "unlocked" will refer to the unit having been wiped of the security code.

This means whenever you install or power-up the unit on removal or swapping battery etc. you'd normally have to enter the code but in this case the code has been unlocked. That makes it nice and easy for any potential thief to use your head unit in another car if they steal it but it means no hassle for you. It won't stop somebody stealing it if they want to, they'll already expect that it is coded, it'll just nake it easier for them (and more profit to them).

It also means that the unit you're looking at MIGHT have been stolen in the past so be aware of this, and be aware that if you look at any other units you would need to know it had a valid code.
