07 Oil Filter for 3.8 Town & Country vs 06 & 08.

While going through the listing at the store getting oil and filter for our 07 T&C, I discovered that an 07 uses a different filter than 06 and 08, which use the same one. Does anyone know why they switched filters on the 3.8 V6 for 2007, then back to the previous part one year later? I compared the two, and they would mount to the same oil filter adapter (same thread and gasket size), but the non-07 filter was a bit bigger in external dimensions. The 06/08 filter was fatter and looked like it would have more filtering media in it. Digging in Google, I found K&N's available filters. Other then small external differences, the 07 had the pressure relief valve set 1 or 2 psi higher.

your asking the wrong people if U want to know a car maker did something for that U would need to talk to an engineer from that assembly plant for that.

Well let me ask this then. Does anyone use the 06/08 filter on the 07?
