08 T&C: Problem with smart key..
 

Ok so we've had problems since the day we bought it, but it has recently gotten to the point to where I cannot let my wife drive the van with the kids because I'm worried one day the van just won't crank.

Randomly, the remote unlock/lock doesn't work, usually we would have to extract the emergency key, unlock the door, put the remote in the ignition to get it started. Once removed the unlock/lock would work again, for a week, 2 weeks, sometimes 1 day.

Sometimes, the van would ding when the key was inserted, but would not turn the van on, accessories or startup. Removing the key and reinserting would allow the van to crank. If the lock/unlock buttons are pushed, they don't work, inserting into the ignition would do the above of dinging (door opened) but wouldn't turn on accessories etc, pulling out and putting it back in (1-3 times) would allow the van to start.

Another strange thing is that the parking lights for the last 2 days blink on and off several times when I turn the van off. I've looked in the manual and cannot find anything telling me about what this might be.

My guess would be it's the remote, I've replaced the battery but it still does the same stuff.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you had the H30 recall done yet? Have the dealer run the vin and see if the recall has been done.

Did you ever get this fixed or find a solution? I have been working on this for about 1.5 years and the dealer has no clue. Remotes replaced. batteries replaced. Key ignition socket replaced.

Same exact problem with the remote lock unlock won't work. Very intermittent. Got a bad key error for a while.

I am back to the dealership tomorrow, so any insight you could give would sure help.
