RE: 1997 voyager speedo gauge

These dashboards are noted for solder failure.
And many people have repaired them with good luck.

But you may have luck resetting it.

[ol][*]With the ignition switch in the OFF position, depress the TRIP and RESET buttons.[*]While holding the TRIP and RESET button turn the ignition switch to the ON position.[*]Continue to hold the TRIP and RESET buttons until the word CODE appears in the odometer windows (about five seconds ) then release the buttons. If a problem exists, the system will display Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's). If no problem exists, the code 999 (End Test) will momentarily appear. [/ol]You can go from there if you get a diag code.

It may also be a BCM error. ($)

Start with a reset.

Good Luck

Hi I`ve tried doing the test and I get code 999, does that mean there`s no problem? As my tacho and speedo have stopped working, Just wondering if I would be wasting my time if I take the dash out and look for dry solder joints?

During the test the tacho and speedo dont move at all, should they?. If they shoudn`t and the code suggest everything is fine with the dash, I will look at replacing the speed sensor.

Thanks for any advice

Pete
