2.8 CRD Engine oil?

Ref 2.8 CRD diesel Grand Voyager 140,000 miles.

Just contemplating doing my own engine oil change, getting slightly confused!
Handbook says 10w-40, to ACEA B3, B4 spec, doesn't say anything about synthetic or mineral.

The manual I have got hold of says the same.

The chart in Halfords recommends 5w-30 and so does the castrol website.

10w-40 doesn't seem very common in the shops, but I am loath to go against the Chrysler recommendation.

Anybody have any firm ideas on which should be used?

Mant thanks

Well chrysler say 10w-40 for the CRD.

They only recommend 5w-30 when the outside temp regularly drops below -10C, which in most of the UK is very rare.

So I'd stick with the 10w-40.
