2.8 CRD Not turning over
 

Hi,
My 2006 2.8 CRD Grand Voyager LTD will not turn over...she has been used daily with no problems until last night.
I parked her up when I came home from work and when I went out to use her again, she would not turn over...
When I turn the ignition key all that happens is the radio display dims! if I turn the headlights on they do not dim, so I am guessing no load being drawn. All the other electrics appear to work, the sliding doors work, the tailgate works...
Now for the honest bit...I hate electrics so any simple advice will help please, I can dabble in the fuse box and things but circuit testing hmmm not for me...

Make sure your battery connections are clean and tight. Could try jump starting with jumper cables and another vehicle. Still no joy? Find the starter relay in the fuse box. Turn the key to start. Does the relay click?

Assuming you don't have / have recently had a flat battery - Locked out [of starting] maybe. Pull the IOD for a couple of minutes. If that doesn't work pull the battery cable for 20 minutes, then reconnect.

This will have the effect of the re-setting all the computer BUS's including your keyfob and starting rights. You will lose your seat / radio, temp / miles - kilometres preferences. These are easily re-set.

NOTE the IOD is Fuse F14 - 20 Amp Yellow - in the 'fuse & relay box' ? not J13. Raed~all~about~it here

Well, having done nothing until yesterday morning, I went outside tried to start..ever the optimist and it did...however now worried as never found precise cause.
I think I may invest in a new starter relay, hedging my bets on this having had a bad day?

I suspect this problem may return. I think your problem is the same as I had, I would give the starter solenoid terminals/connectins a good clean.
