RE: 2001 T&C Limited rear door does not open automatic..
ok I see,
I try to close the door with the remot or inside the van and doesnt work too. Is that normal the door be very light to open or close by hand? Like the sides door if you try with your hand is very havy to open or close ( so I use a lot the remote and inside the van to open/close the side doors.) thanks |

Yes correct, it beeps (like truck when it gives rear), lights flashes and locker opens, the only thing that does not happen is the trunk door that won't lift.

Your problem sounds exactly like mine was.Try the shims and let us know how you made out.Start with one steel washer on each screw behind the rubber block and against the van body.If needed try two washers on each screw.Good luck

there is a lift gate module that might be failing on you,i beleive its in the rear quarter on drivers side.

RE: 2001 T&C Limited rear door does not open automatic..
ORIGINAL: jquinones I did shim like you said, of 1/4 of a inch but nothing!! did not work!! now the door pops even harder but not lifting!! any other idea? thanks guys Maybe someone here can post a pin-out of the connector on the latch module that will show which pins to test. Again-- after the liftgate control module pops the liftgate, it must receive the correct signal from th pawl switch indicating that the door is popped before it starts the opening sequence. |
