2001 Town and Country...New to Me...
All,
I purchased from my grandmother, my late grandfather's 2001 Town and Country. Its my first Chrysler. I have owned 3 Dodge Caravans with my latest being a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan GT.
It has a 3.8L engine. The engine and vehicle has 80002 miles on the vehicle. They have owned it since new. It was alway garage kept since new, and was yearly detailed. I also obtained all the maintenance records which is literally a large vanilla envelop that is about 1.5 inches thick. Details everything ever done to the vehicle. His 2008 Buick Lucerne had just 17,500 miles on it and it went to a friend of his at their church. Both cars are like time capsules. I am leaving the car at my grandmothers till the worse of the winter is over as I do not want to drag it thru the recent and current winter dump in are area...but plan to get it to my garage ASAP.
My grandfather and I used to go to the Detroit car show yearly and he loved cars especiall Buicks and Chrysler Vans...he was not one to wrench on cars...I am always wrenching on something even at 51. He passed at 92.
I have purchased physical factory Manuals (5) for the vehicle as well as a Chiltons.
My reason for posting is there anything I should be concern with on the 3.8 L engine (weak points/things to watch for (Oil Cooler?)). I am familliar with the Dodge 3.2 and 3.6L Pentastar.
Also my grandma believes there was a issue with the one heated seat...Are there any common failure points or things to check first (fuse)?
Also the side drivers door makes a noise...a clicking...any ideas?
I just got the factory manuals...so I can review them but any help is much appreciated.
Thanks everyone for the help,
Chris
