2001 Voyager rear wiper

I've just boughta 2001 (new model for the year) CRD LE Voyager. The rear wiper is not working - the light comes on on the switch when in either 'on' position - any suggestions where I start to track this down?

Additionally, I can't open the rear door using the outside latch (is this an electronic switch or a mechanical linkage), so have to use the key to open it - again, any ideas gratefully received.

Hi
sounds like you will need a new wiper motor and a new tail gate switch (yes it is an electronic switch)

Thanks Merlin. There are some 2004 rear wiper motors on ebay - am I correct in thinking these will fit my 2001? As far as I can see, the 2001 - 2006 are the same model

Many thanks - I can see I've come to the right forum ;)

Easiest way that i know of to check this is to call down to your local chrylser dealer and ask the parts guys. Almost every parts guy I've ever dealt with has been willing to help out with questions like this.

Finally going to get around to sorting this (and the rear electric tailgate switch). Simple question - how do I get the plastic covers off the inside of the door - the only screws O can see hold the handle on. I don't want to pull at the plastic randomly in case I break something.

One more question - does anyone know exactly what breaks with these motors? I've found one motor on ebay in the UK for about £100 ($150) but if it's something simple like the bushes worn out, then it may be repairable.

I would check wiring. It seems a little fishy that both parts would break ( it's possible but less likely than a wiring problem) Maybe the connector for the tailgate is not connected or a wire is cut.

I have some power going to the tailgate as I have number plate lights and the interior lights on the doors working. I can see three separate looms going into the tailgate, but I can't see the connectors - how do I get at these, or is it simplest to remove the plastics on the door to allow me to test the power coming in, in which case, I still need to know how to remove the plastics.

Just to bring this back up again - can anyone tell me how to remove the plastics from inside the rear tailgate (2001 model) without damaging them?

screws around the bottom end then just clips in. bottom half goes under the top half but you don't need to take the top half off just unclip the first bit on the join then the bottom half will come away.
