2001 Voyager Starter Ground Bolt?

hello, my starter was bad i thought, then i found the ground bolt totally rusted and it actually snapped when i tried removing it. but now i cant seem to find just a ground bolt? is it possible to get just the bolt?

it is the kind that actually goes into the housing and the other end holds the cylinder.

i had to put the bolt on minus the plastic housing just to be able to use the vehicle, but now it sparks every time we start it, which is a dangerous situation i would like to remedy.

thanks

You must be talking about the starter bolt that has a stud on the one end where the negative wires attach. if you didn't screw up the wire eyelets, you can just sandwich the wires under that same bolt to the trans case

ok in my investigations i have found out it is actually the main battery bolt, or also the solenoid.

and still no luck finding just that bolt either...

do i really have to shell out over a hundred bucks for an entire starter because i busted the bolt?

Oh you mean the power cable to the starter terminal. how the F did you do that? you can get a proper replacement from any starter rebuilder. while your at it, you might as well get new solenoid contacts because they wear out quickly. VERY easy job to fix. do a google search on how to repair a Denso starter.

I'll make it easy on you and do all the searching, I found this on some other web forum... http://www.nationsautoelectric.com/Nippondenso.html

thanks for the info, though i have looked into that and kinda thought mine was different for some reason... as it seems the terminal (bolt) the battery attaches to (that i broke because it was rusted in place), the other end is the contact that actually holds the plunger in place?

am i wrong?

maybe they were just sorta fused together,,, sure seemed like one piece though.

so far we've wasted 2 days trying to resolve your problem. why don't you take a picture of the problem and post. your headline says ground bolt which is a double ended bolt where one side holds the starter to the trans and the other has a nut for the ground wires. then it seems you're actually talking about the power wire from the battery to the starter. so clarify this problem with a picture... which is worth a 1000 words and saves everyone a lot of wasted time
