2001 Voyager window regulator- repairable or not?

The window regulator on my Oct 2001 Voyager has given up. I have cleaned out the motor and it worked briefly then stopped again. I have contact the Chrysler garage for a replacement and they have quoted £233 for the part alone! I laughed then cried  but I'm determined they're not going to rip me off in this way.

So the question is can it be repaired and if not is there a non OEM version that I can fit instead?

I have contacted a couple of auto part companies and they can supply a new one for around £100 for models up to Mar 2001 and from 2004 but not for Voyagers built between these dates. Does anyone know why this is and would an early or later one fit?

The regulator currently fitted is a Meritor LVS 000274 RHE Cust no. #04717766AB.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks
Gary

2001 Voyager window regulator

If your window regulator isn't physically broken I would suspect the motor itself is at fault. There are bushing in the motors that are probably worn and need replacement. I had a similar problem and ended up just replacing the bushings. I don't know if the dealer sells that part. Usually they sell you the entire window regulator. I got motor bushing from a RC hobby shop. They are very similar. I had to grid them a bit with a dremel tool but it worked! All I spent and two or three dollars. Good luck and I hope this information helps.
