Car is in the driveway, went to start it yesterday......when I turn the key I hear a slight popping sound like its trying to turn over then dead silence.

Battery is good and strong.............try to restart and nothing happens. Sounds like the starter to me. Are they easy to replace or would you advise taking it to the dealer? Any idea of cost?

Hello, CHECK YOUR BATTERYCABLE CONNECTION FIRST .the starter is in front of the engine at the bottom, try tapping on it with a hammer while some one elsetrys to start it . If it trys to start or does start it is the starter. As for replacing it that depends on mech. skills. Not to hard but if you do it your self disconnect the battery first andmake sure you put the wires back on the starter the way they came off..Hope this helps. Trying to take some stress of Chrysler Tech!!!!!

good sign of a bad starter is a single clunk when turning over. bad or dead battery would be fast clicks
