2005 T&C Touring Automatic Sliding door issues

The passenger automatic sliding door does not work. I have done some investigating and have found two spots on the same wire that has been frayed through. Im guessing that may be the issue. What type of repair connectors should i use to fix it? From what I can see is it appears to be a 12-10 gauge wire. Proper name of the connector or splice would be helpful. Also once i try this and it still dont work, what would be a good place to get a replacement wiring harness(snake) for the sliding door. Also where is a good place to get a new sliding door motor? That would be my next step to try once the others failed. Thanks for all advice.

I will mention that I do hear that the door is getting power when i press the button on the keyfob but does not open.

- I just twisted them together to check they worked, and it did
- then 'sleeved' the twist in the same was as this video
- I did not solder and used much less sleeve to keep the cable flexible

Oky Doky. Another thought I have is from what I have read from everywhere I check into, I always see that the door actuator is a common part to fail (the mechanism that pops the door out from the closed position). It's installed on the inside part of the door behind the door panel. Maybe I will try that to see if thats the problem. There are videos all over youtube showing this. Cant hurt to to pop the panel off and watch to see what is not happening then trying to guess.
