2006 Grand Voyager front wheel grinding noise

I recently had new discs and pads fitted on the front wheels. A short while afterwards, we noticed a "rubbing" sound which was assumed to be the pads bedding in. This noise has got worse, and is more a rotational grinding noise now, especially when coasting and is louder when turning RH corners. The noise lessens when turning left, when accelerating and is not noticeable during braking actions. My local garage has checked the brakes and the hub bearings which I'm told are ok.

What else should be checked? Is it the drive shaft?????

Oh and it's a 2.8CRD if that helps.

You say you've had it checked but have they checked for correct location of the brake pads?
I once did my pads & got one pad incorrectly located , it was fouling on the center part of the disc. My wife was away with it & the breakdown service came out but he couldn't find the fault, she brought it back & I found it.
Worth a look?

Get it checked again. Could be cheep parts but not likely to be drive shaft. I have had ABS sensors contacting the drive shaft due to corrosion build up but sounds more like some one has done something wrong.

Success!!!

:D Guys

Thanks for the hints - took car to the garage and had them review the brakes. They removed front pads, calipers etc and found hard build up of brake dust - they removed this, cleaned and reassembled the brakes. Also for good measure unclipped CV rubber boots, regreased and resealed. All for < £50.

All is working well now with no noise!!!!

Thanks very much. :)
