2006 T&C trouble code P0480

I am getting this code for the cooling fan relay. I have replaced the relay and reset the code and after driving a couple of miles it came back on. The fans are working and the vehicle is not running hot. Any ideas or anyone else have this problem?

CHRYSLER TECH 11-07-2012 11:53 AM

what relay did u replace where was it?

gmauck 11-07-2012 12:02 PM

it was the radiator fan relay. It was behind the grill on the front bumper riveted there

CHRYSLER TECH 11-07-2012 04:38 PM

dealer or aftermarket parts?

CHRYSLER TECH 11-07-2012 04:39 PM

Also what was the code number U got?

gmauck 11-08-2012 08:48 PM

It was an aftermarket relay purchased from Auto Zone. The code was P0480.

that is great! Do you have any idea how much something like that will cost or is it a courtesy?

CHRYSLER TECH 11-09-2012 08:13 AM

call your local dealer they can tell u

Raptor 07 11-09-2012 04:08 PM

Ball park? $100. The actual procedure takes minutes.

Ok, still working on this issue. Here is where Im at now. I have tested the fans and they work with direct power to them. I have replaced the fan relay. when the code first came out the fans would work and now they wont work at all. Tried turning ac on and they did not come on either. I dont know if this means anything but i cant even reset the check engine light with my scan tool with this issue. I have checked all the wires and connections and no wiring issues. Any ideas of what to try next?

its like talking to a brick wall some times

gmauck 12-10-2012 05:41 AM

What are you talking about? no its not because I also went to Chrysler and they said the reprogramming was done on this vehicle. I am just looking for some help and appreciate and take all the advice that is given.

We can only go by what you post. No mention of the TSB or your trip to the dealership in post #12. It appeared you ignored advice. Frustration set in. Now that we know the TSB has already been done more advice may flow.

gmauck 12-10-2012 07:32 PM

I see that I left that part out now. Definately not here to ignore any advice. Thanks again.
