2008 T & C Tailgate doesn't open

tailgate button on either remote or button inside car does NOT open the tailgate. You hear some parts of the mechanism work, but it does not actually open up all the way. There is two beeps, then door re-latches. When manually opening the door, the door un-latches, door opens about 2 -3 inches. Then its seems stuck. releasing the door, causes it to close and re-latches, but door doesn't feel firmly closed. Thank you for your help in advance.

Have a look at this thread https://www.chryslerforum.com/forum/...repairs-22433/ It's possible that you have the same problem.

$1200 repair cost

Finally took my van to my dealer for the repairs. After a $135 diagnostic and estimate charge, an "open" on the controller board (board needed replacement) entire chain opener mechanism replacement, had to pre-pay over $730 for the parts. A week later when parts arrived, paid for the installation labor cost, total bill $1200.:mad::mad:
