2009 T&C radiator fan won't shut off after turning engine off
 

Just started happening today. I know the fan can continue running briefly after turning engine off, but when I returned to the van 30 minutes later, the fan was still running. It wasn't driven hard, and it's been in the 40s for most of the day today in mid-Michigan. Hooked up my OBD-II reader, got no codes. The temperature gauge is well within the normal range, and the vehicle otherwise runs fine.

My limited knowledge research has led me to two possibilities, a bad fan relay and/or a bad fuse. Is it possible for a DIY guy to diagnose either? Are there any other things to check?

IF the check engine light is not on while driving, then yes it could be a sticking rad fan relay. Not sure of relay positions for the 09 as I Have an older 04 model.

Actually, the check engine light came on today, but it's a P0456 "EVAP System Leak", which I'm pretty certain is a built-in "feature" for these vans. (I've seen P0456 on my 2009, 2006, 2003, and a few earlier models, so, yeah. Not yet on my 2016, but it's young, give it time.)

And, you raise a good point. The 2009 doesn't have any fan relay between the bumper and the radiator, like I've read exists for earlier gens. So, if anyone knows where I can find it on the 2009, that would be helpful.

I have the same problem with my 2008, and have been searching for a blower resistor. What I found is that the petrol engines have a resistor stuck to the fan housing (top right corner). But since I have the diesel/CRD version, I don’t have one there. Still looking for the fault...
