2010 T&C Brakes Failing
 

I've now had our 2010 T&C in the dealership on 3 occassions complaining about the warping and early wear on the van's brakes. At around 25,000 miles we noticed significant squeaking and shaking due to worn and warped rotors and pads. Chrysler has been aware of these problems and offered to fix the brakes for a $100 deductible. Even though I was opposed to paying to fix a manufacturer defect, I relented and paid.

Now, the problem has returned after only 12K miles. The dealer now says the van is beyond the 36K bumper-to-bumper warranty and we're on the hook to pay for repairs.

The same early wear issues occurred on our 2008 T&C and had to pay for an entire set of pads and rotors. I would have thought Chrysler learned from those complaints (we're not alone in this one) and fixed the problem 2 model years later.

We own vehicles by other manufacturers and have never experienced any early wear problems like those on the T&Cs. Chrysler needs to drastically improve the quality standards on these vans ASAP.

P.S. Now I'm told the transmission noises we're hearing are due to abnormally worn gears and shims. Can't wait for that bill. Seriously, Chrysler?

You had the problem before the warranty period expired and most importantly it is documented. You have a lot of ammunition. Confront the dealership again. If that doesn't get you anywhere call the much vaunted Chrysler Cares hotline. They have made deals with customers in your circumstances in the past. What's left? Another dealership, check your states lemon laws, your State Attorney Generals office, your State Consumer Affairs office, local newspaper, the BBB, any number of online complaint websites. I read of one guy having dealership problems parking his car on the street out front plastered with signs explaining the situation. Three weeks later the dealership gave him a new car.
