2013 Town and Country stalling
Hey...so I have a 2013 TC Touring 196,000mi...VERY frustrating problem. After filling up with gas...at varied times/distances from gas station, the vehicle just stalls and shuts down. Lights, radio, wipers all still work. NOW...after 30min +- the vehicle starts back up and is fine...until the next fill up! It does NOT CAUSE A CEL!
I have REPLACED: TIPM Fuel Pump Map Sensor Purge Solenoid Also tried the fuel pump relay bypass in the TIPM. Again..NO check engine light!! Any ideas?? About to give up on it! |
Question - When you fill the gas tank, do you top-off, that is try to squeeze 'just a bit more' gas into the tank, or stop when the handle clicks off? Topping off can force liquid gas into the evap purge canister which then gets sucked into the intake as a slug of liquid rather than gas vapors when starting back up. This slug of liquid gas causes the stall.

sounds like a purge vapor system issue fill up with gas unplug your purge vapor sednoid electrical connector and see if you stall after that's unplugged and not pulling vapor and possibly liquid fuel into the system and choking the engine.

I replaced the Purge Solenoid...but I will try unplugging it after refueling....the Van can run with it unplugged? Thanks for the input!
"REMEDY"....thanks for tge suggestion! |
next thing is to have a scanner on it and see what goes missing when it stalls. A high end professional scanner can record life data and save it to look at the data later
