After hitting the EVIC reset button at least a dozen times and driving around in circles in parking lots many times ... after the cal indicator appears, the compass is stuck on S for south. Any suggestions... temp and all other indicators seem to be working fine... I am on east coast so I set zone to 11. Cannot get the compass to work. I bought the vehicle with 36K off lease so I do not want to go to the dealer as yet. I tried disconnecting the battery to reset the electronics, but that did not work either. No metal objects are close to the display.

 

Not sure where the sensor is for the compass but I doubt that it's near the display. Make sure there are no stray magnets laying around in the car, no aftermarket speakers, phone chargers, or anything that might have a magnetic field. If you find anything, take it out of the car and try again.

 

I must have hit the compass calibrate button 50 times.... Very disappointing that every time I drive this car, I have this malfunction in front of me reminding me that the quality is still not there.....
