2014 T&C Windshield Chips and Deflector

I'm new to the forum. This is my first Chrysler product and first minivan. I love almost everything about the van except the windshield. The factory windshield has gotten MANY more rock chips than my previous vehicles and has cracked within a year. I don't know if this is due to the vehicle aerodynamics, thin glass, or a combination of both. Before I replace the windshield, I have a couple of questions:

1. Is there any brand of replacement glass that holds up better than the Mopar OEM glass?

2. I'm thinking about trying a bug/rock deflector to help minimize future damage. I've seen T&Cs and Caravans with shields that span the entire width of the hood but I can't find one anywhere. I've checked with AVS and WeathTech. The bug shields from both of these companies only cover the grille and not the entire width of the hood. Does anyone know where I can find a full-width bug shield?

Thanks!

Be likely to deflect flies but not stone chips flying at 100mph.

I'm not expecting a magic cure-all, but it can't make the problem any worse.
