3.8L Engine misfire

Van will start and idle fine, no DTC are present, no check engine light. I have not checked fuel pressure but am thinking that is the next step. As I increase no load throttle the engine will increase to 2900 rpm and then begin to misfire and lean pop. If I quickly go to wide open the engine boggs and misses under no load. The vehicle will not drive under load. Everything tells me the engine is lean on fuel, this problem happened imediately while driving home one day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Unless u just replaced the battery or it dies anything like that if U do have a miss there will be a check engine light on

I think it is normal for this engine to get rough at high rpm with no load. It is protecting itself by cutting fuel to cylinders on a rotating basis. A clogged fuel filter usually fails more gradually. If it is a fuel flow problem it is difficult to find. The fuel pressure may be normal at idle. It would only decrease with a load. Could be a fuel tank venting problem also.
