Default Is 97 voyager 3.3 ECU plug n play?

Hi can anyone tell me if you can just replace the ECU with one from another vehicle for a 97 UK Grand Voyager 3.3LE ??

or does it need main dealership intervention ?

Cheers

u are asking for trouble if u just install something to your van that came out of another van and if u do the dealer cant just reprogram it to your van it does not work that way.

Hi Chrysler tech, so what are my options then if my ECU is blown ? I was having some top end work done by a local garage (not dealership) which meant disturbing the engine wiring harness. The car started ok after the work, but next day wouldn't start - after investigation they say the wires in the harness were cracked and dry and had shorted out due to being moved, and this short has blown the ECU.

Does this mean my 14 year old is a scrapper now ??

Cheers

Ok - thanks for the info. I have found a couple of places in the uk i can get mine remanufactured.

But does the picture change any if my ignition key is not a CHIPPED one ?? (black key and fob) - Could I then replace with an ecu with the same partnos and have no problems ? (I expect the answer to be NO! so don't hoold back!).

Cheers
