abnormal noise from front suspension 2004 voyager

Hi Guys

My 2004 voyager 2.4 LX has some noises from the front suspension everytime I go over a small bump.
I just changed the front control arms as the dealer had previousley said the ball joints were worn. Recently had the anti roll bar links changed . But after the front controls arms were replaced the noise is getting worse.

now the garage ( non dealer) who replaced the links says it is the shock struts that are leaking, although the ride over speed bums and on the motorways is good. the only time I hear these noises is when it goes over a speed bump or even a depression in the road.

any advice would be appreciated. before I spend more money.

Might try the sway bar bushings. They and the SB links are the most common noise makers.

thanks, do you mean the anti roll bar links or the sway bar links?

Abnormal Noise

Yes its your anti-roll bar Mounts if you mant to call them that. Bushings is Chrysler term. 2 off, clamp your anti-roll bar to the sub frame (yeh well not the sub frame but it will do).. Each one is clamped in position by a half moon shaped clamp and a nut...Make sure you put it on correctly....Get them from Latvia via E-Bay...

Thanks, i'll try that. I suspected that he might not have put the roll bars in correctly.

Just one more question.
I had the anti roll bar links changed about six months ago, can they be fitted incorrectly, the mechanic says their is play in them, because of the strut.

Sway Bar Links.

Links fitted incorrectly, only thing would be if the nut wasn't tightened properly. The link is only a piece of bar with ball joints either end. Joint is secured to bottom of strutt by a nut at one end and to the anti-roll bar with the same sized nut at the other end.
My links came with grease nipples on the joints, small ones at that, need to get a smaller head for my grease gun. Control arms came with small grease nipples as well, we must be going backwards in time now.
No idea on how long the links are supposed to last, but on the other hand they are cheep, about £30 the pair and easy to fit.

I replaced the sway bar bushes and links and the problem is solved. Thanks for your advise.
