Airbag light on Help!

After a recent interior change I got the airbag warning light. I had to splice in the new interiors connectors to my existing wiring loom. I then replaced the existing seats to see if the airbag light would go out but it did not. I have read the code and it is code number 48 Orc driver output 2#. My vehicle is a 2004 Chrysler voyager 2.4 se. Anyone have any ideas?

That code is saying that Occupant Restraint Controller (the ECU for the airbag system) is knackered. The service manual states it should be replaced.

Cutting the wiring to the seats may have shorted something and caused it to fail, but I'd suggest that you double and triple check the cuts and joins you made.

Regards
Richard

Does anyone know if there is a fuse that I should be checking? I have read on various sites that there is an airbag module fuse but I don't know where it is?

The vehicle is 2004. what did the interior come from?????

You WILL be replacing that ORC module, but I would find out what went wrong FIRST. If not you WILL smoke a Brand new module in a MATTER OF sECONDS.

Fuses only "Power up" the module. If the module is working to the point that he knows something is wrong inside.......I doubt fuses are a problem.

does it need to be a new orc module? How much am I looking at to get one? Can I fit it myself? The interior was out of a 2003 model. I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes before removing the seats then cut the harness and spliced in the leather seat connectors. On noticing the fault I disconnected the battery again spliced back in the original connectors and put back original seats but still have the fault.
