Blower Motor Failure

Ok, being the electronics tech that I am, I began troubles shooting this problem. I have an 03 T&C Limited w/3 zone autocooling. I popped down the glove box and started checking connections, so lookin at the power module resistor, I took off the connector on the left (3 wire) and chacked got voltage, there is voltage going in, so I checked going out and it is good. Now coming out of the mod there is voltage there, but motor dosen't turn. So I bought a new motor.. and nothing.. But I was told that if the mod went out the fan would run on high by the dealer.. ideas?

RE: Blower Motor Failure

I still put my $$ on power module. When mine failed it stopped the fan alltogether. It is a 5-min fix and $70-$80 for the part (you could do it in the parking lot in no time - just take your 1/4"ratchet, extension and socket and empty your glove box before going). The replacement was different on the sensor side as well as missing one terminal connection. The dealer said that it was redesigned for efficency and the terminal was a redundant connection. Regardless, it worked.

RE: Blower Motor Failure

I agree with lugnuts, when it fails, it can be locked on high or not running at all. Mine died two weeks ago and it stuck on high but the parts guy said it happens both ways.

good luck,
