Broke 2001 Grand Voyager - Stuck in gear..
 

I have a 2001 Grand Voyager 2.5 CRD limited edition Manual 79,000 miles very good condition and full service history and love it. Yesterday it broke ..:-(


Driving along taking the children out came to a round about husband struggled to select 2nd gear and was a BIG fight, finally found something and came off the roundabout then suddenly 50 yards up the A24 car screeches to a halt leaving a nice 11 behind us.



Mmmm odd .....so try starting it up, clutch depressed starts ok , great (as we were in a dangerous position). He brings the clutch up to the biting point car wont move, its like the front wheels are locked in position. Police (and many off them) come to the rescue.... try to push ...but nothing so we get dragged off the road and wait for the recovery truck


So, now cant select 1st or 2nd gear if the cars off or on but can select 3,4 and 5. The recovery man thinks its caught 2 gears, being stuck in 1st and 2nd. Thank god its still under warranty, phew...however clutch not covered.



So car seems to be in neutral, by wiggling the stick but car will not move at all. Clutch seems ok as you can’t start the car without your foot on the clutch, so starts.... try to pull away but wheels will not move. Garage keeps saying it’s the clutch...mmmmm not convinced and seem to be working ok (get out clause i hear you all scream)


So does this sound right, gearbox stuck in between two gears rather than a clutch issue, any one had this before??
