Chrysler Town and Country 2011 MPG
This is my second post on this matter. My other computer has a few missing keys and i wanted to make sure I was understood. I'm not getting the MPG I should be getting on my minivan. 15/19 instead of 17/25. At least that what the on dash gauge says. Does anyone know how accurate it is. Or is anyone having a problem with low MPG. Any advice.

My readout is just about accurate. I am tracking the MPG and I average 17.9 MPG as recorded at each fill-up. My dash gauge also reads 17.9 to 18. I'd say it was accurate. Hope this helps.

I get fantastic mileage on my Limited. I average 22 and consistently get 25-27 on the highway.

I never get less than 38 and can get up to 50 mpg on a long run. That's the difference from a 2.5 TD. :)

You left out the most important facts in your question. What kind of driving do you do? Is it all highway or stop and go traffic? Do you have a 'heavy foot' and make use of all 283 horses, or do you take it easy?
You're moving a fair amount of weight. With a full tank of gas and a couple of people in the van, you could be over 5000 lbs. My 2010 with the 4.0 liter engine can go as low as 16-17 in traffic or if I 'lead-foot' it. On the highway, at a steady 55, I can get close to 25 or maybe a little more. If your 2011 only has a few hundred miles on it, it will get better as things loosen up a little. I'd give it up to 5000-6000 miles to see what you're going to get. To get the best mileage, keep the RPM's as low as possible when you're driving. You'll get the best mileage with moderate acceleration, letting it shift as soon as possible into the higher gears and then try to cruise on the highway at a speed just a little higher than what will keep you in top gear. |

Wow man, my 1998 5800lb Ford Expedition get just as good as what you stated. I would look into a few area to see or look for a problem. Plus, as i see another has said, how do you drive this TC.

Just be happy you don't own a 2008 T & C

My '11 T&C limited got the best mileage yet, on a trip from East Texas to Dallas last week. One person, light load, mostly freeway, and driving the speed limit, I logged 29.8 going, and 28.2 on the return trip.
