Clutch Inhibitor Switch
Quick question, I think the clutch switch decided to give up today so no start, jury rigged it from the lucar terminal on the starter to battery, so I could start, was wondering if it turns out to be the clutch switch if the wires could be joined perminately? does the ecu sense if the clutch is being depresses for any other purpose other than starting?, there is always the possibility it was the starter position on the ignition key that was at fault?? thought I would start with the easy one first.

Check for voltage at the starter coil connector, there should be 12v there when clutch pressed and key turned to start. If not bridge out the clutch pedal switch and test for start again. Renew switch if it starts. And as I have said previously the starter connector should be tight.
There is a male Spade connector on my old Starter but the starter I got today has a machine screw connector. |
