Correct ATF?
Hi all, does anyone know the correct ATF for a 1997 Grand Voyager 3.3 4 speed?
I ask because I've just had a leak dealt with and the garage used Dexron 2 and now when starting from cold it takes a while to drop into drive but once it's been running for a min or two it's ok. Done a few search's and some say Dexron 2, or 4 and some say don't use Dexron at all! Any thoughts? Many thanks.....Phil. |
technically the vehicle calls for Mopar ATF+4 and not Dexron. However your problem is totally unrelated to any fluid type issues. There could be a couple things... one is that the transmission was damaged from low fluid level, or it's just a coincidence that you're having this problem. I use Dexron and have never had any issues ever.

Good news, the garage had underfilled the transmission, added about 3/4 of a litre and all is well now. Thanks for the post 22.
