Could it be the battery??

In the last 2-3 weeks my 3.3l grand voyager has lost the radio code and has struggled to start about 3 times ,once its started its fine I was thinking could the battery be dying a death and if so what sort of power output should I be looking to buy . UK owner.

Thanks.

Hi, I aint a mechanic but I suppose it could be the battery. One way is to get the battery checked. If you drive to any Halfords store they will check it for you. They did checked mine for free while it was in the car. Of course they are looking to sell you one so have a look at the reading they get yourself.

I would be grateful if you could let us know what it turns out to be.

Thanks.
Robert.

all u need to check your battery is a simple volt meter. a charged battery needs to be 12.6 volts. while cranking it cannot drop below 9.6 volts. simple check to see if its your battery or some other problem

u can also get 12.6v and less then 300 amps and the van not start or turn over real slow.

but as soon as u put a load on a sub par battery the voltage crashes. 9.6v is bar minimum during cranking. when u load a bad battery, even though open surfact voltage reads acceptable, as soon as you load it it dropps below 9v it's junk. and fyi a battery @ only like 12.3v is considered only 50% charged.
