Should you sometimes here a clicking noise coming from what sounds like around the handbrake lever when the aux heater is on and does the aux heater sometimes produce smoke from under the car?

My wife is convinced there was smoke coming from under the car today when she got out it but i cant smell or see anything wrong under it but having said that ive not had the engine running again yet.

I'm pretty certain mine makes the same noise (though I try not to turn the heater on to max except in very cold weather). It does produce smoke underneath sometimes, especially if it's only been a short journey before you switched off again.

Not a daft question at all - if you look around lots of people have asked it, including me. I've never had a car with this on before, so it was something new.

I am Scotland so its either cold or raining here most of the time so the heater is always on full. ;)

I spoke to Chrysler on the phone and they say it should do that but i had never heard of it before and the wife got a fright when she saw the smoke.
I took it a run yesterday and had no problems at all with it. I still need to either find the Infinity amp myself or put it in somewhere to be found so I can get the stereo working again.

I finally got the stereo working again. The amp on the passenger door speaker had burnt out so it was bypassed and then all the other speakers started working again.

No more singing to myself. :)
