will do but only just carried out oil and filter change so wont be before March, although I may drain off the spare ltr as I do not want it to remain overfilled

I syphoned all I could out and put new in years ago when I bought this one and I've put no oil in it in the years I've had it. I wouldn't worry Goggsy, I'd only start to worry if it was loosing oil or it was giving me problems

Were talking about the ENGINE, you seem to be talking about something completely different??

A dipstick has only one overriding characteristic .. .. its length and level[s] markings.

I notice that answer from you as well John but I put it down to the cheap plonk. (bet its about £1 a bottle). (lucky you).
