Do I need new Hatch Struts??

Hey Guys, I just experienced my first hatch problem on my 2006 T & C. I went to open my hatch by remote and the hatch started opening but when it got near the top it paused a second and started down again and closed. I chalked it up to being on a semi steep driveway that I thought might be interfering with the weight ratio or something. Maybe the struts are going out and are not supporting the hatch enough? The mechanicals seem to be ok and I believe the hatch works OK on level ground. What do you think?

Sound good but give hinges a bit lub...

Definitely new hatch struts...

UPDATE: I studied the struts more and decided it was the struts. When the hatch is open you can feel that the struts are barely keeping it up. I just ordered a pair from a strut company with a 2 year warranty for about $20. I believe it's money well spent. I will give you the update after install, should take about a week to get here and install.

Well, I am happy to announce all is fixed. I propped up the hatch and replaced both struts and hatch works nice and tight. Great forum!
