Dodge Caravan 05 3.3 Coil removal
Hello. I'm having trouble with replacing the ignition coil in my 05 Dodge Caravan. Allfix had this info:
Question how do you replace the ignition coil for a 2005 dodge grand caravan 3.3L? Answer REMOVAL - 3.3/3.8L Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the throttle and speed control cables from clip. Remove 2 bolts from the Power steering reservoir to intake manifold. Loosen the lower nut for the power steering reservoir from stud on ignition coil bracket. Reposition the Power steering reservoir (IGNITION COIL BRACKET 3.3/3.8L). Remove the ignition cables from the ignition coil. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil. Remove 2 nuts from the ignition coil studs. I can’t get to the second nut/stud that’s holding the coil box to the coil mounting bracket. The power steering reservoir is in the way and I can’t find a nut or bolt to remove the reservoir. A rounded swivel bolt is holding the reservoir to the bracket. Can’t post pics or I'd show w/arrows. Help appreciated! |
use 10 mm socket 1/4 inch on a 3 inch extension and U can get it from the back of the coil

Thanks, finally got the coil off. Did not have enough room to get the 10mm socket on the nut. Reservoir didn’t leave enough clearance. Had to remove the reservoir. I had to push and bend the reservoir bracket towards the front to get access to the swivel bolt nut holding on the oil reservoir. Took off the reservoir then i was able to get the other coil bolt. There was a lot of fluid under the coil sitting on the bracket. Hope this is the problem. Already changed plugs and wires.
