Driver side power window not working.

Hi everyone out there..
I have a 2001 Grand Voyager. The driver side power window started working only intermittently for a couple of weeks. Now it's stopped working altogether. All the other windows work fine.
I thought it was a faulty switch console, so I got a used one for 15 quid and fitted it. The used console is fine- it works all the windows apart from the driver side.. Obviously the problem isn't the Switch console. any advice anyone?

Thanks,

Greg.

Hi
Most likely the motor in the door, comes complete motor and regulator. Sometimes you can tap it and it will work again to get it shut.

Hey thanks for the quick response! Can you describe the steps to open the door trim and card to get to the motor/regulator mechanism?

Greg.

The problem is the motor brushes need to be replaced which are difficult to get hold of

I am based in Surrey if you need it fixed.

Thank you... Going chuck Norris on the inside panel fixed the issue for me just now... Some violent hits, and the window motor had no choice than to comply and start again. ;-)

Once you get the door card off it's fairly easy to remove just the motor and fit new brushes. They can be sourced from a model shop or on-line but you may need to sand the new brushes down a bit to get them to slide easily in the housings.

Thank you Alan. I think this is the way to go... I have same issue with the brushes in the motors to adjust the driver seat. I have no idea if it's the same motor model as for the windows... One day i will take it apart to check. :-)
