Engine Diagnostic
Have noticed there seem to be a Few of inexpensive Engine Code Readers on E Bay, does anyone know of a suitable unit that will work with my 2.5crd 2003 Voyager?
Any help would be appreciated |
inexpensive Engine Code Readers - most of the P codes can be seen on a 'key dance' for free |
Hi thank you for the reply, below £50, I have done the key dance and found a code but I have been informed that the code I found was a general code and what I would be looking for would be hidden under the general code found using the key dance

This is one area I find frustrating with our cars, its almost impossible to find a cheapish diagnostics tool. With mercedes Launch which sells for £100 will read most things
? You can even buy chinese clones of the official Mercedes tool for £250. Why hasnt someone created for Grand Voyager |

Look most readers are pretty useless, £20 for a bluetooth android smartphone toy might give more than a 'keydance' £150 for a bluetooth Autel will give more than a 'keydance' but even in the £1000+ fully diagnostic [not reader / scanner] league you will have issues reading Chrysler, even when in this elevated diagnostic club a J2534 reprogramming tool costing an extra £1000 quid needs to be added to the first £1000 and even this tool has issues with Chrysler specific vehicles. For example the 2014 CHRYSLER Diagnostic Software for X-431 Series V29.00 has only just updated the following covering from 2005 to 2015. All diagnostic & scanner level tools are behind their years, at the end of the day even if you have the £2500 invested in kit you still need someone like tfb to translate what the tool [s] tell you into a hands on diagnosis. Best of luck. |
Thank you QinteQ for the info, I had not realised that was possible, looks like the Chrysler's are a oddball regards Diagnostics, O Hum
