Voyager 3.3 – Engine fuse (25A) blown out

Hi,

We are ccurrently in France for our summer holiday and we are experiencing a weird problem with our '96 3.3 Voyager – there's a 25A fuse called Engine that keeps burning out and the electrical system appears to be dead.

Anybody here knows what that fuse is for?

p.s. No manuals here so I have no idea. Please help.

This might be caused by the fuel pump (apparently a well known problem for cars running on LPG most of the time) but we'll have to wait for the car to return in order to be able to check things.

It would at least explain why it didn't want to run on petrol anymore (we we're able to switch to LPG, for a few hundred miles, before it was all over) – the second weird thing was that our VDO Dayton nav screen started to flash, just seconds before the radio and dashboard did the same.

The battery was also drained to a low 8 volts, so it should be pretty obvious to locate this problem.

We finally have the car back home, and thus the hunt started earlier today. I first removed the fuel pump relay, and that was the winner. My fuel pump gave in after 315.000 kilometer so that's not too bad I guess, that is if a new one wasn't a bloody 505 Euro!!!

I guess that I will have to star digging for a new alternative fuel pump, presumably one made by Bosch, but I will first need to remove the fuel pump to get to its part-number.

Any help here finding one would be great, thanks.

I have used a company called JeepChryslerParts through Ebay over the last couple of years and they have provided me with excellent brand new parts and fast delivery.

If you go to Ebay and search for this:- 270435731844 it will take you to your pump for £79.95 + £4.50 postage - bargain!!

Good luck
