I suspect a faulty EGR valve, but the check engine light on? If this occurs, a vehicle to take Auto parts store and use a scan tool fault code (s) stored in the computer retrieve. Most parts stores this free service offer. The problem will narrow the search. Sure hope this helped.

The EGR valve went bad less than a year ago. The check engine light did come on. The engine still ran though. But it was noticeable that something was not working properly.
The engine runs smoothly with this particular problem. It seems for a split second something misses in the ignition and shuts the engine off. No sputtering, hesitation, or anything like that. Since having these issues, the engine light has not come on once. Chrysler also told me that the computer did not register a fault code. I have researched this alot on the internet, and this particular problem has happened to other folks. And I have found that the problem has been difficult to diagnose because the computer doesn't register a fault. So I won't know anything until the check engine light does register. But hopefully by me changing the cam and crank sensors will have solved the problem. If not, I'll continue changing out sensors or whatever to maybe solve the problem. Thanks for your input.

Your situation sounds just like mine, and your process is the same too. What finally fixed the problem?
