Engine temperature very slow to warm up
 

We are in Atlanta.

First heating issue we have with this car.

Our 2001 Town and Country LXi 3.8 FWD start to have this problem after the 60K service. The engine temperatur seems to be slow to warm up, thus the climate control sets itself in a delay mode.Even after 20 minutes and the temp needle would barely move up from the cold and the climate control still in delay mode. The temp needle would rise a little bit as soon as we stopped at a traffic light but it would drop again when we continue.

After the 60K service (last fall) we noticedthe temp needle never go up above the lower quarter. It went up to the lower quarter when the temperatur is not as cold but during this winter it never reach that lower quarter.

I'm hoping to get some help in:
- determining what the problem would be / could be
- and get an idea of the repair route & cost.
Maybe this is something I could fix myself?

thermostat on the passanger side of the engine where the upper hose goes into the engine 2 bolts and replace what coolant is lost. But br u do that look at the leve of coolant waterpumps are bad about leaking in both the new and old body styles.

Thanks for the hint but I am not sure I follow. Are you refering to the radiator hose? I can see the upper radiator hose to the engine, it is on the driver side and I could not find any termostat. Please help...

its under the housing that the hose goes into is the fluid low look at that first.
