Fan resistor
I replaced the fan resistor a couple weeks ago. It solved the fan problem. The fan worked on all speeds instead of just high. However it only lasted a couple days. Now I need to replace it again.
Is there an underlying problem for whichI should look? I was using a power converter to provide voltage for my laptop computer. Could that be related to the resistor burning out so soon? Or did I just get a defective resistor? Thank you. Booker |
RE: Fan resistor
blower motor drawing to many amps

RE: Fan resistor
How do I check that out?

RE: Fan resistor
u cant unless u have an amp meter if u already put one resistor in u will be doing for from now on untill u replace the blower motor.

RE: Fan resistor
I do have an amp meter. What are the specs? Or are you confident the motor needs to be replaced?

RE: Fan resistor
if u have an auto amp meter it will nuke the 10 amp fuse for sure because it will be over 10 amps of draw. Dont have specs for that sorta thing its just physics. I have replaced enough blower motors because the cust returns in a month or less from when a resistor was replaced. I have done it on my 99 concorde as well.
