Fluids for Chrysler Voyager 1997?
-Engine oil (classifications...and whatnot)? -Brake fluids, dot 3...is cheap dot 4 (SAE J 1703 DOT 4 +) from my local mall ok? Or cheap DOT 5.1 (US FMVSS 116)? -Steering fluid....only "mopar power steering" fluid? Engine oil (examples of what I have available): Cheap mineral oil 10W–30 (API SL/CF, ACEA A2/B2)? Cheap semi synthetic 10W–40 (API SL/CF, ACEA A3/B3, MB 229.1.) Castrol Magnatec fully synthetic 5W-40 (API SN/CF, ACEA A3/B3/B4 C3, S2, Dexos II, LL-04, MB229.31, RN0700/RN0710, 502.00/505.00) |
...and Fuchs TITAN UNIMAX ULTRA MC 10W-40 Ultimate Performance, Full Synthetic

dot 3 brake fluid
oil 10w 30 Normal Power steering fluid If u got to synthetic oil U must stay with it cant switch around |
just to ask a question, I just bought a 2009 T/C with the 3.3 with about 90,000 miles on it. Why 10w30 not the 5w20? And I want to go to full synthetic oil is this a good move?. And when it comes to motor oil which one is a better brand than another that is easy on the wallet?. And when it comes to the other fluids is there a better brand over another? Sorry about all the question. Thanks David

where are u getting the 10w 30 info from?
Your downloadable owners manual says this Engine Oil Viscosity (SAE Grade) — 3.3L & 3.8L Gasoline Engines SAE 5W-20 engine oil is recommended for all operating temperatures. This engine oil improves low temperature starting and vehicle fuel economy. Your engine oil filler cap also shows the recommended engine oil viscosity for your vehicle |

I have a 2.4i L engine. Is it OK to use? What happens if you switch back from synthetic? Is there any chance of leakage switching to fully synthetic from mineral oil? ...on every oil there are different classification systems it seems, which are the ones I should look for? |

It's still a Chrysler Voyager 1997 2.4i L, no matter where I am...and I need to keep it running. I can order online. But I have a restricted budget to work with, that's why I try to learn and get help online. |
