Front hub/bearing

Hello to all,

This is my first posting on this forum. We have a 2003 2.5 CRD Grand Voyager manual - a UK car. This is our second Grand Voyager, the last was a 3.3 petrol auto which we loved but which drank fuel!

Anyway, the car's now just gone over 120,000 miles and we are getting the expected clunks and grinds from suspension, bearings etc. I put a new bearing/hub on the front right a few weeks ago - this was bought mailorder from a 'specialist' in London and I have a feeling the noise I'm now hearing is from the new bearing!

However, just in case it isn't (you know how sound travels) I'm going to replace the front left bearing as well. A local bearing supplier is able to provide me with a new hub and bearing unit but only for the last model Voyager - up to 2001. The price is attractive...but...

Will this fit my 2003?

I'd appreciate any advice anyone can give!

Many thanks,

Allen

A bearing is audible and 'feelable' and unmistakable.

- what our American cousins call sway bar bushings at about £20 a pair
- what we call front anti roll bar links at about £20 a pair

Are the much more predicable culprit - the whole both sides of the entire front end can be done for less than the price of one hub unit, so considerably cheaper than a hub unit that may not be at fault.
