Front passenger seat stuck in lying position-Help!

Hi, we have a 2000 Chrysler Town & Country Mini Van with heated leather seats. One of our children put the seat all the way back in a lying down position and it won't go back up. We tried pushing/forcing it while someone turned the power knob on but nothing happens. All other controls up/down/forward/backward work fine. My husband took the seat off today and tinkered but couldn't find anything wrong. We were told that we'd have to take it to someone that does car upholstery, sounds pricey. Does anyone have any suggestions that we might try? We'd appreciate it. Karen

If the seat simply appears to be in the fully reclined position that you would expect (i.e. not flopped down like a bed), thendo youthink it could be the "up" switch? I'd try to "hot wire" it to go up; For that you'd need a wiring diagram. I haven't messed with that part of the wiring, but seems like it could be a distinct possibility, and LOTS cheaper to boot. Worth checking into I would imagine before spending the big bucks to get it fixed.

Perhaps that's what your husband was "tinkering" with when he had the seat off?
Chad
