Fuel problem on Voyager

Hi all,

Model Chrysler Voyager 2.8 CRD LE
Year 2005

Our voyager has developed a mind of its own. Whilst driving a LIGHT will come on in the dashboard and then will LOOSE POWER. Sometimes we can drive very slowly.

Occasionally when you wish to start the car the engine will turn a few times and then the battery goes dead. Since we always drive with jumper cables in the car it normally starts again afterwards.

The repair shop says that the computer reports an error P1130, a fuel pressure issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do ?

Thanks in advance

RE: Fuel problem on Voyager

one of things that may be wrong, is the low pressure fuel pump, usually located inside the fuel tank. since you can not test it yourself, ask the mechanic for it.
that's considering the error P1130.

from your description, it sounds like you have some other problem.
depending on the mileage of the car and the engine condition, it can hapen that variable turbo is cousing that. vanes inside turbo get very dirty (from soot) and not moving. that causes excess pressure inside the manifold, and PCM is fighting that by reducing power. spraying some WD 40 on the vanes can clean that, but for that, you would have to remove one of the tubes around turbo.
problem can also be caused by bad fuel pump (high pressure), but mechanics should know how to test that.

RE: Fuel problem on Voyager

Hi,

It seems that Chrysler have a problem that they cant solve...we thought we had a fuel problem but after Chrysler had the vehicle for 2 weeks in the repair shop they concluded we had a battery problem and replaced the recommended battery they told us to use with a mopar battery.

She is running fine for the moment.

It seems that not even Chrysler knows what the solution is.

Regards
