Heater Problem

Hi Guys, I'm new here but pleased to have found the forum! I have a 2002 Grand Voyager 2.5CRD. Great vehicle and I'd definitely have another.

I'm about to change the anti-roll bar bushes to eradicate that annoying knocking! I'm also sorting out the cold starting problem - relay or glow plugs. I need some help with another problem. I'm sure it's been covered but a search didn't find anything.

The engine refuses to warm up when the weather is cold. The heater barely gets warm. It's fine when the weather is milder. Any ideas?

Thanks and a Happy New Year.

Trevor

Have you checked the water level? And does the cabin heater work when you first start up?

RE: Heater Problem

Water level is fine. I checked that first as on previous vehicles that I have owned with similiar problems it has turned out to be an airlock. A lot of modern motors now have a cooling system bleed valve.

In mild weather it is fine but when it's cold - and that's when I need the heater - it refuses to get warm enough to make any difference. The temperature gauge stays at the bottom end. I suspect thermostat but I've no idea where it is hidden!
