help cruise control does not work at all

hi all

when i start up the engine on my 2 litre 98 voyager the cruise control light comes on then goes off when i press the cruise control button on the light stays off ive tried this on a motorway and the light stays off and no cruise control i even set the speed (was doing 60 when i tried it)

as soon as i take my foot off the gas it just slows down any ideas guys as this is the first car ive owned with this on it and i would love for it to work

Pete, look through my old posts and you will find a link to download a full workshop manual for your car. Sorry can't help you directly with this one as mine is a 2.5TD and does not have CC.

hi glowplug and everyone

well since then ive been told the clockspring could be the problem and ive found out there was a recall by chrysler for the clockspring back 2004 and mine has not been done so ive booked the car in to chrysler to have the mod done hope this sorts a few issues out anyone reading this should check this out all you need do is type in the vin number of your car on the chrysler website to find out if yours needs doing

here,s the link

Hi Pete,

May I know if your problem with regards to the cruise control got solved? In case it did, may I know the solution. I am having a similar problem with my Chrysler Pacifica.

Thanks in advance

Found the solution on mine, the cruise control connector on the front driver side seemed to fell off... just connected it and everything is OK again. :)

hi sivitec

the problem on my voyager was the clock spring behind the steering wheel i got it replaced at Chrysler as a manufacturer's recall I'm glad you got your problem sorted on your Pacifica i know its annoying when things go wrong i don't own the voyager anymore though as i sold it way back last September 2009

regards
